Is there any way or need to clean the sensor in my bridge camera? No lenses being removed so I guess not?
I have a Panasonic bridge camera and was just wondering (as there is nothing in the manual) whether the need to clean sensors only comes about in cameras where the lenses are being changed i.e. DSLRs.
Most of the dirt on sensors comes from outside when changing lenses its true. Some can come from dirt/oil from the cameras internal moving parts. You can usually spot dirt/smudges on sensors by shooting up at a clear blue sky (to fill the frame) at the smallest aperture you can get (f22 or smaller if poss). Sensor dirt should show up as either small black dots or a more diffuse 'patch'.
Not sure how (or even if) you can clean it - might be a manufacturer service needed. However as its unlikely you'll shoot fully stopped down it doesn't really matter if there's just a bit. You can always Photoshop it out with the Heal or Clone Stamp tool.
