Will a Cox DVR that has been pre-programmed continue to record if a show runs long?
If a game or race runs long will the DVR automatically continue to record if it has been preset or will it cut off at the original time?

As soon as it hits the new cable guide, your recording stops. What I do is record the next 3 shows if watching Nascar and sports I record the next 2. If it doesn't run long you just delete the other shows.
I tried putting in 60 mins longer on the time but that doesn't work.

Can my cable company charge me a fee for a new dvr without informing me of the charge first? read for details?
I have cable/internet/phone services through Bright House Networks. Recently my DVR started rebooting itself constantly. Also, the shows that I would preset to record would not record.
I called Bright house to have it repaired and they told me that this is common in their DVRs and they would send someone to my house to replace it.
Nobody mentioned to me once that there was a $370 fee for a new DVR.
Am I responsible for this fee? I did nothing to damage the equipment.
Can they charge me this fee without informing me? (I found out about the fee when I went to pay my month bill.)

Yes, they should have asked you first.
Plus, you most probably lease the DVR in the first place, so you should just have to pay (if any), just the visit (about $100 at most).
Call the managers and complain.
