Connector Plugs why do the electric plugs(connector) differ in different countries? ?
A friend told me that its the greed and the short sightedness of the business owners and the standardisation committee. My personal view is why not make either 3 pin plug or 2 pin plug worldwide. It will save lots of material that are going to waste now.
Countries have their own safety standards and power line ratings (power, current, voltage, phase, impedance, frequency) that they can't simply adopt other countries plugs and sockets.
The manufacturers only follow the sets of standards.
