What are lowcost motion detect techs available?
Im trying to creat a device myself, detect 6 DOF. I know Wii use accelerometer and infared sensor. I heard of some kind of pen use sonic wave to track movement, is this real? The using of electromagnetic field, mechanical sensor like mouse.
Is there any available at low cost?
the cheapest I can think of is
Infrared emitting diodes like the center Diode in a VCR
and infrared detector diodes like the end sensor diodes in a VCR
You could build a box with BEAMS that you could interupt by
your hand. Get a good driver made you could actually
track up down left right in out
this is actually the method of a BALL type mouse
a wheel with holes in it rotates as you move the mouse
the mouse sends 1's and 0's as the beam is interupted
