Familiar with miscarriages?
So I had my first doctors appt 5 days ago. I am currently 14 weeks pregnant. Saturday early morning after intercourse, I went to the bathroom and when i stood up blood just poured out of me. I got into the bathtub and two clots cam out. The blood was bright red, the clots were dark red. The bleeding only lasted about 30-45 mins, but we filled up ann entire trash bad full of paper towels. I went to the er the next morning, and they baby was fine! Moving all around, and heartbeat was normal. I have talked to everyone I know and no one has heard of anything like it. Is it still likely that I will miscarry? If so, can it be prevented? Oh and this is my second baby, first was a normal pregnancy. I went to the doctor AFTER the bleeding, they did an ultrasound..it was all normal and the first ultasound was a pelvic and transvaginal..and there was only one.

I'd say consider yourself lucky. With my very first pregnancy, I miscarried at 14 weeks, with details similar to yours. I do know some women have softer cervix's then others, and rough/deep penetration during intercourse can lead to bleeding. This happened to me earlier in this pregnancy, and the baby has been fine since. The concern I would have would be the nonstop bleeding and the blood clots. With my miscarriage, I started bleeding the day prior, and it stopped, and then I has a miscarriage the next night. I would take it easy, try a bit of bed rest if and when possible. Avoid things that would trigger a miscarriage like running, jumping, ect. Things I'm sure you already avoid. Maybe try less intensive sex next time and see if that changes anything.
